Wednesday night, join Kathi Mahon as she celebrates her birthday with a tab and packet stuffing for Alex’s 5k! Happy Birthday Kathi!!!

Halloween Weekend – October 27th-29th




Start your weekend at Lisa’s Halloween Party @ the Modern on Friday night, October 27th, as to not interfere with race day! Costumes are a must!

Then, join us for HARRA’s next race in the fall series – the Houston Half Marathon held Sunday, October 29th! The race begins in downtown Houston, following an out and back course along Allen Parkway.

Post-race party will be hosted by Paul & Sue Schultz at their home (3030 Amherst) beginning at noon!

It’s that time of the year again!! Alex’s 5K & Kids K is quickly approaching!! The race will be held Saturday, November 4that MacGregor Park. Registration is open at www.alex5k.com

Please consider running or volunteering to support a great cause that is near and dear to the club!


The Rockets Run will also be held Saturday, November 4th! We are asking for 8-10 BCRR volunteers to help man the race, as this is a large revenue builder for the club. Please reply to the email to volunteer for either race.

SOCIAL CALENDAR:

Happy Hour – La Grange 
   
(Friday, October 20th, 2017) Please join us this Friday for  happy hour at La Grange (2517 Ralph St) – An expansive patio bar offering regional Mexican dishes, plus craft beer and cocktails. See you at 6:30PM
Sunday – Whole Foods
(Sunday, October 22nd, 2017) Join us immediately following the long run for coffee and breakfast at Whole Foods on Waugh.
WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:

Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. 

Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard). 

To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one. 

Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.

**Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons. Check the BCRR Facebook Page for the latest updates on run cancellations**
