Greetings BCRR Members! We are double booked and you can help. Several months ago, BCRR committed to providing 25+ volunteers for the Race Against Violence. The race is held on Saturday, February 22, at 8 am. Long time BCRR member, Tom Stillwell, manages this excellent event, and the proceeds of this race benefit the Houston Area Women’s Center.
Unfortunately, the Houston Harriers recently selected this same date and time to host the Buffalo Wallow 6K, at SPOTTS Park. This is a HARRA race, and as a HARRA club, BCRR encourages our members who wish to run this event to do so.
Since we are a club of almost 400 members, we think we can do both. For those people who are unable or do not wish to run the Buffalo Wallow, please help BCRR fulfill our obligation to the Race Against Violence. We need volunteers, primarily for support positions, so kids, spouses, friends and family are welcome! If you can volunteer for the Race Against Violence, please contact Rosie at email@example.com.
The Bayou City Classic will be upon us March 8; Many BCRR members participate in the planning for this fun event. We are seeking additional volunteers for both Packet Stuffing and Packet Pickup.
Packet Stuffing : Thursday, February 13 at 4:30pm - Memorial Park Golf Course.
Packet Pick Up Dates:
- Saturday, March 1, 11-5pm, at WestPoint Lincoln, 1166 Katy Freeway
- Sunday, March 2, Noon-5 pm at Fleet Feet, 6590 Woodway
- Monday, March 3, Noon-5pm, Specialty Healthcare & Wellness 6750 West Loop S. @ Bellaire
- Thursday, March 6, 11am-7pm, Whole Foods Market Sugar Land, 15900 S. W. Freeway
- Friday, March 7, 11am-7pm; Fleet Feet Rice Village, 2408 Rice Blvd
Please contact Samantha_mcmurtrey@hotmail.com and firstname.lastname@example.org if you can volunteer!
HARRA volunteer points are awarded for your efforts, and as extra incentive, Packet Stuffing includes beer and food...it can also be quite fun! As with many of our races, they can't happen without volunteers :)
