Pizza & Beer Make Wednesdays the Best!
This Wednesday we will celebrate the birth of Peter Griffiths, John Phillips, & Christina Jones with pizza & beer! Happy Birthday friends!!!
Do you have a suggestion about the timing of our Wednesday run? Please fill out a SURVEY to help us with future planning.
Also, the First Christian Church (our Wednesday parking spot) is collecting donations for Baton Rouge flood relief. They are assembling drywall repair kits: A 5 gallon bucket filled with drywall mud, drywall tape, a drywall sponge and a drywall knife. Let's contribute some BCRR kits! We will be collecting donations for the next two weeks at our regular events. You can donate cash, individual items, or an entire kit.

It's PROM NIGHT!!!!!!
Join us Saturday, October 1st for a “Dress Your Decade” Prom. Get your dancing shoes to the Modern B&B at 7:30 PM for a night full of throwback jams and fabulous dresses! Beer & Wine will be provided – please BYOB additional beverages of choice and a potluck appetizer or dessert if desired.
Send or bring Christina Jones - christinabcrr@gmail.com pictures from your prom, to be featured in a slideshow. There is even a chance to be elected King or Queen of the prom!

First Sunday of the Month Bayou Run & Breakfast!
Join us Sunday, October 2nd for a break from the routine by running along the Buffalo Bayou.
Afterwards, meet us for breakfast at Black Walnut (5512 Memorial Dr) for a delicious brunch!

Join us Saturday, October 8th for a fun twist on our annual family picnic! The field day will take place at Andrew the Young’s home, 4010 Mandell, from 1 – 5 PM.
BCRR Board will be manning the grill with burgers and hotdogs, feel free to bring a side or dessert. Games and family competitions will be plenty so get your teams ready!

· BCRR Invades Austin – November 19-20th: Susan & Steve Davis have invited BCRR to Austin! Festivities include a Saturday AM run with their run club, Ship of Fools, brunch, and cocktail hour at the Davis' home (54 Rainey St). Two hotels have been recommended based on location:

HARRA FALL SERIES:
Space City 10 Miler
The Space City 10 miler is back for the 15th year in the Clear Lake area as part of the HARRA Fall Series of races on October 9th. The race begins at UH – Clear Lake, featuring a single loop course around scenic Clear Lake with aid stations every 2 miles. Registration information HERE.

(Friday, September 30th, 2016) Please join us this Friday at The Cellar (3140 Richmond Ave.)! It’s a quaint dive bar with the BEST/DANGEROUS cocktails and free bar games! See you at 6:30 PM!!

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. The goal is to increase membership and recruit new members with this new social event. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. **Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, Mellow Monday will be cancelled for safety reasons.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information- p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
