Mid-Week Update…Rallying around Adam Metry

Dear BCRR Family,

Last week Adam Metry – a long time BCRR member - received unfortunate news from his doctor. After having heartburn symptoms for several weeks, a medical evaluation revealed that he has a malignant tumor in his esophagus and he has been diagnosed with Stage IV Adenocarcinoma of the Esophageal Junction. He is currently receiving treatment and is an inpatient at MD Anderson in Houston - one of the best cancer treatment centers in the world; and one of the few with a specialized esophageal cancer treatment practice. The initial medical treatment plan is chemotherapy and he is currently in the process of completing his first round.

While we are deeply saddened we are ready for a fight. We know we have world class medical care, a strong and large support network and faith in God.  This is going to be a marathon of a journey but the good news is Adam knows how to complete marathons, as he and his beloved wife Denise recently ran 2015 Boston marathon!

The Metry’s are grateful to have so many friends participating in Meal Trail.  If you would like to provide meals for the family, please view a real-time schedule of their Meal Train using the following link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary Kathryn Campion at mkcampion@hotmail.com  Otherwise, we have setup the following CarePages website where you can track Adam’s progress and support him though your messages. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

God Bless,

~The Metrys
