Joe Conway was known as a strong, competitive, and motivating runner to many who had the pleasure of keeping up with him during a run or chatting over coffee following. Wednesday – Ice Skating @ Discovery Green
Join us Wednesday, December 27th, as we begin the taper and take a break from the routine. We will be ice skating at Discovery Green beginning at 7PM. Location details can be found HERE.

Modern B&B New Year’s Eve Party
Lisa Thompson is hosting another infamous New Year’s Eve Party at the Modern B&B – Sunday, December 31st . 8PM. The theme is Black & White – dress accordingly! Enjoy drinks, dancing, and a countdown to 2018!! A babysitter will be available so bring along the kiddos!

Chevron Houston Marathon Information
GRB Run – Sunday, January 7th
The final Sunday before the marathon, we will run the last 6 miles of the marathon (from Memorial Park to the GRB) and back. Usual start time of 6:30 AM.
Pasta Loading Party – Friday, January 12th
The Carb-loading Pasta Party will be at Buca Di Beppo (5192 Buffalo Speedway) at 7PM on Friday.

Gear will be collected Sunday morning at GRB by club cyclists to be delivered to the Hoopla stations. Please place items in a bag, labeled with your name, preferred aid station drop, and pace.

SOCIAL CALENDAR:
Happy Hour – 13 Celsius
(Friday, December 29th, 2017) Please join us this Friday for happy hour at the 13 Celsius (3000 Caroline St) – a cozy wine bar with a very relaxed atmosphere. See you at 6:30 PM!
Sunday – Whole Foods
(Sunday, December 31st, 2017) Join us immediately following the long run for coffee and breakfast at Whole Foods on Waugh.
WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
**Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons. Check the BCRR Facebook Page for the latest updates on run cancellations**
