BCRR WEEKLY UPDATE - December 4th to December 11th

It's Christmas Time for BCRR:

Wednesday - Christmas Lights Run
Wednesday, December 6th @ 6:30 pm - start at the Rose Garden

Join us for a special 3 mile run around River Oaks, featuring the festively decorated houses! VIEW MAP HERE Afterwards we will celebrate with drinks at Kenneally’s Irish Pub (2111 S Shepherd Dr.).
**NOTE - there will be NO SUPPORTED Rice run this Wednesday**

Friday - Christmas Party
Friday, December 8th @ 7 pm – Modern B&B (4003 Hazard)

Join us at the Modern B&B for the BCRR Christmas Party! Cost is $10 at the door – which includes a signature cocktail, dinner, and dancing! FESTIVE attire is a must!

Bring your favorite holiday baked treat to compete for Champion of the BCRR Cookie Table!

Fort Bend KIA 30K

The last race in the Marathon Warm-up Series is here - the Fort Bend KIA 30K. Join your fellow runners Sunday, December 10th for a triple loop course around the lovely neighborhoods of Sugar Land. Race details and registration can be found HERE.

** Please note, there will be NO SUPPORTED Sunday run from Memorial Park**

John’s LOOOOONG RUN – Sunday, December 17th
This is the 17th year and the 2nd year for the new site at Sue Leone’s/Alan Svoboda’s Terrace Home (326 Terrace Ave. 77007)

Course Map can be found HERE and will be adjusted for the new start location.
This is open to all BCRR members and guests Start is 6:30 am from The Terrace House. It is a 21 mile single loop route with several ways to adjust the distance. There are 6 water/Gatorade stops (about every 3 miles). A Drop Box for clothing will be located at the corner of Crestwood and Memorial behind the water fountain and will be picked up about 45-60 minutes after the run starts. Dropped Clothes will be placed outside on the back patio.
A full breakfast with adult drinks awaits the finishers. It will be served in the Kitchen Area. We have an indoor and outdoor shower. The Hot tub will be heated and bubbling for those that need some relief.
We ask for a donation of about $7-8 to help with the cost and a couple of volunteers to help with cooking. So come and join the fun and don’t be late. Front door will be open. Sue & Alan
*For those of you unable to attend, the Runner's High Club has invited BCRR to their supported long run - Saturday, December 23rd - more details to follow*

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:

Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. 

Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday  evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard). 

To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.

**Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons. Check the BCRR Facebook Page for the latest updates on run cancellations**
