BCRR Holiday Party THIS Friday, Dec. 13

When: December 13, 2024 - 7PM   Where: Home of Robert and Melissa Swanson: See weekly email for address.   What: Our annual holiday party!   FREE for members; $10 for non-member guests (cash, check or Venmo accepted)   Dress: Seasonally Festive - sequined ball gowns, ugly sweaters, or Xmas pajamas all acceptable attire.    🍹 Special Welcome Cocktail: Habanero Margarita    - 🌮 Mexican Food Buffet featuring tacos from Memorial Taco    - 🍺🥂 Wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks (feel free to bring a bottle to share!)   - 🎫 Special Giveaways! XMAS Lights Run Wednesday Dec 18th, 6:00PM

Join us at the Rose Garden on Lazy Lane for a a short community run/walk (~4 miles) to view the lights in River Oaks. Dress festively and conspicuously (i.e. wear lights and reflective clothing). For safety, please keep children with you.    We will be inviting everyone in the running community again this year, so spread the word!   We will convene at Kenneally's Irish Pub afterwards for drinks, food and door prizes!  (photo: J. RECAP: Coach Andy's 30K - Dec. 8th

The Houston Harriers did a great job bringing back the 30K this Sunday in Sugar Land and BCRR rose to the occasion! We had a terrific showing for the 30K and in the new 10K distance.   30K: Congratulations to Avi Moss for winning his age group and qualifying for the Chevron Houston Marathon Local Elite Program. (M60, 2:15:41).   Other podium finishers: Ally Serrao (1st F55, 2:18:32), Suzy Seeley (1st F65, 2:43:28), Gloria Mahoney (1st F70, 3:50:43), Fred Ward (1st M75+, 3:17:50), Lisa Thompson (2nd F55, 2:33:16).   4th: Caryn Honig (4th F55, 2:59:02), Paul Schulz (4th M65, 3:15:52)   5th Place was as popular as 1st: Brendon Flaherty (5th M35, 2:24:53), Scott Moore (5th M40, 2:12:51), Lee Morris (5th M45, 2:40:59), Stacy Smith (5th M60, 2:34:06)   Mirna Chang (7th M55, 3:16:38), David Seeley (7th M65, 3:51:40), Steve Hasson (11th M55, 3:16:38)   10K: Kathi Mahon (1st F70, 1:19:52).    KUDOS to Ankur Patel, who was 3rd M40 ( 1:51:16) in the 10K even after running an extra loop on the 30K course!   Congratulations Everyone! Weekly Club Runs

Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info Sunday Long Run 6:30 am at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Whole Foods in Montrose (701 Waugh Dr Houston, TX 77019)
