Valhalla Tab Streak Continues!

Thanks go to Morgan Halvorsen for sponsoring the beer tab last week at Valhalla! We were also treated to a surprise pizza feast courtesy of Oyvind Nerland and Chris Mancini! (photo: L. Fusi) This was the 14th consecutive week of FREE beer and the 3rd consecutive week of FREE pizza thanks to the generosity of our members!   We continue our streak this week with a Birthday Tab sponsored by Mirna Chang! It will also be BCRR Alumni Night, so we encourage any past or present (or future) members to join us. We will be there around 7:15PM. The Wednesday run, as always, starts at 6:30PM sharp from the First Christian Church Parking lot.   This will be the 15th consecutive tab at Valhalla!

This Saturday HARRA's Party in the Park - Aug 9 ­

Join BCRR at HARRA's Annual Party in the Park! This FREE event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9th from 7 am to 10am just west of the Tennis Center at Memorial Park.  Free watermelon, water, beer, music, club tents and more. Get your run in, stop by and say hello. We will have the BCRR/Alex's 5k tent at the event. Stop by and say hi! Volunteer for a shift at the tent to help promote BCRR and Alex's 5K (contact houstonbcrr@gmail.com).    Susan Cita will be in charge of organizing the event for HARRA and will also need volunteers to help set up, tear down, and for food service. From Brook McClain: "I completed the Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Austin, with my daughter. I finished first in my age group, 70 and  above. Weekly Club Runs

Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow	Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla	Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info	Sunday Long Run 6:30 am at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Whole Foods in Montrose (701 Waugh Dr Houston, TX 77019)
