Houston Hash House Harriers has invited BCRR to participate in their Houston Hash's Road Rally/Scavenger Hunt on June 29th.
The following from McPisser:
...listen up:

Below you will find the general information about the Road Rally event that I've been posting about since February. Trust me, you don't want to miss this. I know Hashers are last minute animals but we really need to start getting some kind of head (who said head.......) count so we can figure out how much food and beer to get. Start putting teams together and get me your names as it is stated in the last paragraph, please.

Mark you calendars now, June 29th, 2013 will be the return of the Houston Hash's Road Rally/Scavenger Hunt that was started by Cums Anyway, Gaslyte, Grind and McP in 2009, and was also done in 2010 by the first years' winners NARC, Pull the Prick out, Pussy Checker and Brrrrggggghhhh.   If you didn't attend either, you missed a hell of a good time both years. This year, the event will be in the afternoon and the hosts Spy in the Sky and Yeast of Burden have offered their pool as the starting and ending point in the Spring Branch area.

Here are the basics, the contestants will be given clues to locations all over the city. You will have to figure out the clues and decide which
locations you can get to in the given time period. You will take a picture to prove you were there and return to the starting point where the judges
will verify your list. BTW, your judges and hosts this year (aside from the homeowners!) are Cums Anyway, Gaslyte, Grind and me.

A few more details. Try to get 4 person teams together, that works best - but if we have singles we will try to put them on existing teams. Everyone attending will pay $10 each as well as a team charge of $10 ($50 for a team of 4), this will pay for the beer and food with any remaining money going to the winning team. How much money can you win? We are shooting for $100 for the winning team after paying for food and beer. In addition to all that loot, the winners will be the hosts for the following year's Road Rally.

OK, the last thing for now, when you get a team together, send me the names of your teammates (both Hash and civilian names) and your team name. This is not limited to Hashers, feel free to raise the IQ average by bringing in civilians. We need a headcount for frosty beverages, food and to help the homeowners to decide if this was a big mistake.

We plan on having 2 kegs of St Arnold's, 5 or 6 briskets (and a veggie alternative), a pool ending and oodles of fun. Trust me, you will not want
to miss this.

See you at the Rally,
McPisser

Eddie Rodriguez is still in at Brackenridge Hospital but expects to be released this week but will probably stay in Austin so he can be near the hospital.  He hopes to return briefly to Houston on June 29th and 30th.  Lisa Foronda has been raising money to help with Eddie's medical expenses and to cover travel expenses while he recovers.   So far she has raised over $14,000. You can send a PayPal donation to https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/send-money-online and use the recipient email of edrod.fund@gmail.com.

SATURDAY June 22nd: Trail Running at Huntsville State Park
Lara Allen is organizing an alternative run this Saturday.  Meet at Memorial Park (tennis area) at 5:30 am, and caravan to Huntsville State Park and hopefully start running around 6:30-ish.     Afterwards we will have a pot luck picnic and/or byob recovery beverage(s).  Lara will bring some water and Gatorade for after the run, but make sure you bring your water bottle to carry some fluids during the run.  It will be steamy.
Why not refuel on yummy blueberries off the vine afterward! At Moorhead's Blueberry Farm, blueberries can be picked for $2/pound?  All you can eat while you're there. They freeze well, too. Berry good runs need berry good berries! 12:00pm Saturday June 22. 19531 Moorhead Rd  Conroe, TX 77302. www.moorheadsblueberryfarm.com

Weekly Club Runs:

Wednesday (Rice University): Join us every Wednesday evening at Rice University for Sprints and Spirits. The group meets at the First Christian Church/School parking lot off Rice Blvd. (1628 Rice Blvd.) at 5:45 pm (run leaves at 6 pm). The Bayou Run (6.6 miles) is the usual route but there are shortcuts and alternative routes as well. All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla, a delightfully casual and economical watering hole, afterwards. Come on out! It's a great way to break up the stressful work week.

Friday Hills at Mount Bacon (Tanglewood): Join us for this weekly run from St. Martins Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road to Mount Bacon. We meet in the church parking lot at the corner of Sage Road and Woodway Drive at 5:30 am. We have a 1.3 mile warm-up run to Mount Bacon and do 2 to 4 miles of hills with a 1.3 mile run back to the church.

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30AM): Join us for the weekly long run from Memorial Park zero-mile marker. We leave promptly at 6:30 and members typically run between 10 and 15 miles. Breakfast afterwards somewhere.
