Last week was a big week for BCRR...........

We had a huge turnout on Wednesday at the Christmas Lights Run and at the Post Race Party hosted by the always gracious Lisa Thompson at her Modern B&B.   We are so fortunate to have Lisa as a BCRR member she is always opening her doors for a party and monthly board meetings and we all really appreciate her hospitality.   Also special thanks to Mary and Ralph Feniello for once again transporting the keg of No Label beer from the Alex's 5k Post Race Party to the 25K Post Race Party to then to the Modern B&B.  Lots of folks in costumes and ugly Christmas sweaters.  Thanks to all who brought food and drink to the party we probably had enough to feed everyone within a one-mile radius of the B&B.   Also due to the generosity of those attending the party we were able to donate approximately 140 pounds of food and $329 in cash to the Houston Food Bank (some of which was raised at the Holiday Bash).

Lisa Thompson- 30K Masters Winner
BCRR was well represented at the Finish Line Sports 30K race on Sunday morning.  We had many members that took home some hardware and will follow up with the results once they are posted.

Thanks to all who volunteered for the Jingle Bell Run on Sunday.  The Jingle Bell Run is a BCRR sponsored race and a major revenue generator for the club (the reason your annual dues continue to remain as low as they are).

The date for the 14th annual John's LOOOOOOOONG Run is set for Sunday Dec. 29th 6:30am.
As most of you know 3 week prior to the marathon is the optimal time for your last long run. This year I was able to make that work. I've laid out a 21mi single loop course with 6 water/Gatorade stops along the way. There are many ways to adjust the route to accommodate shorter runs. There will be a full breakfast menu along with adult beverages after run. Hot tub will be there for those so inclined but bring a towel.   Parking: street parking and in my driveway is available. You will see cones in front of my house and the neighbors. These just mark locations of sprinkler heads but you can still park there.  So arrive early to get the closest parking. The few things I ask is $8 ( or as close as you can get ) to help cover the cost. And that if you are wet via sweat/rain please dry off before coming inside, my wife will kill me if everything gets wet.  Please RSVP so I can get a head count for food and water stops. Thank you and train hard.
