As most of you know BCRR is Race Management for the YMCA Annual Jingle Bell Run December 13, 2015

I have been assigned the duty of rounding up volunteers to help manage this race.

Volunteer positions are listed below:

Timer/Splits Call Out (8)

WATER STATION CAPTAINS (4)

Possible Assistants to Joe and Hope Race Directors.

Check in would be 12:30pm at the BCRR Volunteer Check in Booth

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:

Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. The goal is to increase membership and recruit new members with this new social event. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. **Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, Mellow Monday will be cancelled for safety reasons. 

Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:15 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:30 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard). 

To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one. 

Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.

Alex’s 5K is THIS SATURDAY, November 14th, 2015 at MacGregor Park.

This race includes multiple events for our kiddos, including a Kids K, “Turkey Egg Hunt”, and Cupcake decorating. There is also post-race beer for all the big kids!

Please consider running to support a great cause that is near and dear to the club!

A few mid-week updates:

BCRR Garage Sale 

• To be held Friday, November 6th & Saturday, November 7th
• Please drop off items at the Modern B&B (4003 Hazard St) prior to Friday morning.
• Volunteers are also needed for Saturday, please contact Lisa if you are interested: lisa@modernbb.com

Rockets Run

• Volunteers are still needed for this club fundraiser! Please contact Susan Cita to volunteer: susancita.bcrr@gmail.com  
• There will be brunch at Barnaby's (414 W Gray St) following the race

Weekend Run:

• There will be no club supported run this weekend. Instead please consider volunteering for either of the fundraising events of the club
• Should you need an alternate run, consider joining Kenyan Way or Runners High. Details in the links.

Rockets Run!

Calling all BCRR Members!!!!!

We are in NEED for more volunteers for the Rockets Run on Sunday, November 8^th at 6:00 a.m. This race brings in $2000-$2500 in annual revenue which helps fund things like the Christmas Party. We have committed to providing 50 volunteers and are very short of that number at this time.

Volunteers are needed to help us man water stations, call mile splits, and serve as road guards.
