­ ­ ­ Good Morning Bayou City Road Runners ­ The Word from the Bird ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ BCRR Spring Banquet Wednesday, May 25th @ St. Arnold's Brewery ­ It's time to celebrate the end of a successful year of running at BCRR's Spring Banquet. The banquet will be held at St. Arnold's Beer Hall on Wednesday, May 25th @ 6:30PM    Tickets are $15 at the door (cash or check) and this includes dinner and beer for the evening.    Please RSVP HERE so we can gather an accurate head count.    There will be awards, BCRR swag, and the cookie table will return! You will be able to renew your BCRR membership at the banquet as well.    ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Board Nominations! ­ Nominations for Board Members are open now. Roles are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and At-Large Member. Alabama St), a boiserous neighborhood bar serving beer in a dog-friendly outdoor area with picnic table seating. We will meet around 7PM.    Post on Facebook if you will be early! ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Friendly COVID Reminder ­ Even as the number of cases decreases, the BCRR Board kindly requests that you receive the COVID vaccination to minimize the risk to yourself and others. Wearing a mask is still encouraged. Please maintain social distancing prior to and following club runs.  ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Sunday NEEDS Hydration! ­ Who likes water during the Sunday long runs? Especially in the summer! Our Sunday morning hydration team could use a little more help as people go on vacation. Please contact Loris for more information on how to volunteer! ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Weekly Club Runs ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Mellow Monday ­ 7pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Wednesday Run ­ 6:30pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Friday Speedwork ­ 5:30am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ Sunday Long Run 6:30am at Memorial Park Tennis Center for a 10-12 mile supported run with water at 2 locations followed by breakfast ­ ­ ­ ­ **Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons.
