Thanks to all who participated in the River Oaks Run and BCRR Christmas Party! What better way to celebrate the holidays than running and French 75's! 

Sugarland FLS 30K

 Congrats to all who raced the humid and rainy 30K! We had a great showing of BCRR talent!

John’s LOOOOONG RUN – Sunday, Dec 18^th

NEW LOCATION and planned 4 weeks prior to Marathon due to Christmas. This is the 16^th year and the 1^st year for the new site at Sue Leone’s/Alan Svoboda’s Terrace Home (326 Terrace Ave. 77007)

Course Map can be found HERE and will be adjusted for the new start location.

This is open to all BCRR members and guests Start is 6:30 am from The Terrace House. It is a 21 mile single loop route with several ways to adjust the distance. There are 6 water/Gatorade stops (about every 3 miles). A Drop Box for clothing will be located at the corner of Crestwood and Memorial behind the water fountain and will be picked up about 45-60 minutes after the run starts. Dropped Clothes will be placed outside on the back patio.

A full breakfast with adult drinks awaits the finishers. It will be served in the Kitchen Area. We have an indoor and outdoor shower. The Hot tub will be heated and bubbling for those that need some relief.

We ask for a donation of about $7-8 to help with the cost and a couple of volunteers to help with cooking. So come and join the fun and don’t be late. Front door will be open. Sue & Alan

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:

Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. The goal is to increase membership and recruit new members with this new social event. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. **Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, Mellow Monday will be cancelled for safety reasons. 

Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard). 

To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one. 

Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.

Christmas Party @ 8 pm – Modern B&B (4003 Hazard)

First, join us for a special 4 mile run around River Oaks, featuring the festively decorated houses!

Afterwards, head over to the Modern B&B for the BCRR Christmas Party! 

Party to feature a signature drink, Hors D'oeuvres, and Karaoke! FESTIVE attire (tacky sweater or black tie) is a must! 

Cost is $10/person at the door!
