BCRR This Week November 12 through 19, 2012

Welcome New Members:  Josha Atkins and Matthew Inman,  Welcome!

BCRR Birthdays This Week:  Hillary McLennan (November 13), Patrick Flaherty (November 15), Terry Fanning (November 16),  Dianne Lee (November 17), Manny Valle (November 17) and Steve Liston (November 18).   *=New Age Group

Have a very happy birthday!

This year's Rockets Run was a huge success because of the 60+ BCRR volunteers who woke up early on a Saturday morning and managed the race.   Because of your efforts the club earned a big pay check to use for our many social events.

Thanks to all of you who volunteered.    A very big thanks to our volunteer coordinators Susan Davis and Sam McMurtrey who did a great job rounding up the volunteers and coordinating with the Rockets.

THIS SUNDAY IS THE - HMSA St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital Classical 25K and Specialty Healthcare and Wellness 5K  (

If you have not signed up you can do so on-line before Wednesday and save some money.  This year there will be a huge after race party and will be awarding lots of door prizes to runners.

Following the race, there will be an after race party at Sue Leone & Alan Svoboda's home: 326 Terrace (around corner from 6035 Feagan St.).  We will send out details about this later in the week.

Since most of you will be running this race we will not have any water or Gatorade for the River Oaks Run this Sunday.

It’s time once again for the 21 mile looooong run and breakfast.   The route has many ways to get in different mileage. This is the 12th year of this run so most know the routine.  But as a reminder here are some details. Starts at 6:30 sharp from my home ( 8211 Burkhart 77055 ).  There is water and Gatorade about every 3 miles. Normally have a sag wagon if you run into trouble. After there is a full multi course breakfast, adult beverages, and hot-tub.  Bag drop in house with a shower. Shower with a friend, the line moves faster and conserves water. There is street parking but carpooling is encouraged. And the driveway holds many cars. All I ask is that you RSVP via e-mail ( so I can plan for the right amount of food and drink. And as years past a $5 donation to help with the cost. It cost about $7-$8 a person to put this on but I don’t  like making change. So if you want to donate more feel free. I may update info as the date approaches, but wanted to give everyone a heads up. Run well and stay healthy my friend.
