Nominations for the next BCRR Board will be held at Valhalla on Wednesday night. Do you love BCRR? Consider spending a year on the board. It is a rewarding opportunity to make an impact on the club and to see all of the pieces that come together to make this club successful. Election results will be announced at the Awards Banquet on May 28th.

The MS 150 ride from Houston to Austin will be held on April 12-13.  We have several BCRR members that are participating and they need your help with sponsorship.  Please consider sponsoring one or more of them:

Any BCRR members who plan to run Crescent City Classic 10K or are visiting New Orleans on Saturday, April 19 (Easter weekend) are invited to "Cocktails in the Courtyard" from 5:30pm until 7:30pm that evening at the French Quarter Royal Street home of Cheryl Verlander and Chuck Bracht.  If you are planning to to attend, please RSVP to caverlander@gmail.com for details as to the address and entry to the courtyard.

Beach to Bay Marathon Relay (May 17, 2014): BCRR's annual road trip and weekend get-away - get on the ball and organize your team!  http://www.beachtobayrelay.com/

For those people who are first time Beach to Bay Participants, the BCRR teams usually stay at the Gulfstream Condominiums conveniently located right near the start of the race! The apartments are quite nice and are comfortable for 4-6 people.   Reserve now!!  Gas grills are available on site and many of the BCRR condos share a mixed grill on Saturday evening after the race. SOCIAL CALENDER:

BCRR Awards Banquet, May 28th at St. Arnold's Brewery.  Come and celebrate BCRR's 30th Anniversary with great beer and barbeque.  


This is the time we give recognition to our members for running achievements, volunteer efforts, and elect next year's board of directors. The event will take place at the St. Arnold's Brewery located at 200 Lyons Avenue.

Admission to the Banquet is only $15 and includes a barbecue beef brisket or chicken dinner with potatoe salad, barbecue beans, green salad, bread, desert and of course all of the St. Arnold's beers on tap.  For vegetarians we will have a baked potato with vegetarian chili.  Please no outside alcohol allowed.

This is a free HARRA-sponsored low-key cross country run that meets every Tuesday in April at 6pm.  These races are free and vary from 3 to 5 miles.

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 5:45 at Rice University (run leaves at 6 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).

Friday Hills at Mount Bacon (Tanglewood):Join us for this weekly run from St. Martins Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road to Mount Bacon. We meet in the church parking lot at the corner of Sage Road and Woodway Drive at 5:30 am. We have a 1.3 mile warm-up run to Mount Bacon and do 2 to 4 miles of hills with a 1.3 mile run back to the church.

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Join us for the weekly long run from Memorial Park zero-mile marker. We leave promptly at 6:30 and members typically run between 10 and 15 miles.   Afterwards stop by for coffee at Starbucks on Memorial Drive near the park.
