Hey Fellow Virgos (and a few cusp Libras too),

It's that time again for the Virgos Do Valhalla Party where we do our zodiac sign proud and show BCRR what a fun loving bunch Virgos are. This year's VDV party is planned for September 9th at 7pm to whenever the tab runs out.

For those who would like to help pitch in for the beer tab, bring side dishes or dessert, or have any "special" activity ideas, please email me at susancita.bcrr@gmail.com. Susan is bringing BBQ Chicken Sliders and Grilled Veggie-wiches for those gluten free/non-meat eaters.

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:

Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. The goal is to increase membership and recruit new members with this new social event. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. **Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, Mellow Monday will be cancelled for safety reasons.

PLEASE NOTE that our Wednesday run at Rice University has changed effective immediately: Due to an increase in after school care, the First Christian Church cannot accommodate BCRR parking in the church lot until 6:30 when their childcare day ends.  Every Wednesday evening we will now begin our weekly runs at 6:30.

If you choose to run before 6:30 please make alternate parking arrangements. Parking on Cherokee is free after 6:00 p.m. if you'd like to pre loop Rice. Please help us maintain our positive relationship with the church by respecting their needs. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and flexibility with this.

To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.

All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).

Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net

Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
