BCRR WEEKLY UPDATE - January 7th to January 13th

MARATHON UPDATE:
Full details of the weekend can be found on the BCRR Website.

GRB Run – Sunday, January 13th

The final Sunday before the marathon, we will run the last 6 miles of the marathon (from Memorial Park to the GRB) and back. This run is open to all Houston runners - so invite your friends! Usual start time of 6:30 AM at the Tennis Center.

Pasta Loading Party – Friday, January 18th
The Carb-loading Pasta Party will be at Buca Di Beppo (5192 Buffalo Speedway) at 7PM on Friday.

Gear Collection
Please place items in a ziplock - labeled with your name, preferred aid station drop, and pace.

Gear will be collected by Christina Jones at the following times:
  • Sunday, January 13th @ the GRB Run
  • Wednesday, January 16th @ Valhalla following the run
  • Friday, January 18th @ the Pasta Loading Party

*** There will be NO gear pick up marathon morning!***
Security does not allow non-runners into the convention center.

Happy Hour – Better Luck Tomorrow
(Friday, January 11th, 2019) Join us at Better Luck Tomorrow (544 Yale St), a cozy, modern bar with inventive cocktails and indoor & outdoor seating! Join us starting at 6:30 PM.

Sunday – Whole Foods
(Sunday, December 13th, 2019) Join us immediately following the long run for coffee and breakfast at Whole Foods on Waugh

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00 PM. Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 PM at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 PM sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the Tennis Center (Old 0 Mile Marker) for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
**Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons. Check the BCRR Facebook Page for the latest updates on run cancellations**
