BCRR WEEKLY UPDATE - March 4th to March 10th



GOOD MORNING BAYOU CITY ROAD RUNNERS!!

**NO PARKING for Wednesday - March 6th**
Due to Ash Wednesday services at the First Christian Church there is NO PARKING at the church for Wednesday’s run. Please find alternate parking on Sunset or in the paid Rice parking lot.

As service will be going on, please be mindful of your attire when using the church facilities.

Alumni Night - March 6th @ 7PM
Our first Wednesday of the month mean Alumni Night! We invite the seasoned runners of the club to Valhalla to impart your running wisdom on the next generation of BCRR!!

Alternate Wednesday Run with PIM - March 13th
Power in Motion (PIM), a fellow Houston based running club has invited BCRR to join a training run on Wednesday, March 13th. We will meet at the Memorial Park Running Center on N Picnic Ln at 6:30PM.

Afterwards, we will head to Canyon Creek (6603 Westcott St.) for drinks, food, and meeting members of PIM. More info about PIM and the run can be found HERE.

**There will be NO supported Wednesday Run at Rice**

Bayou City Classic 10K - March 16th
The Bayou City Classic is quickly approaching as the next HARRA race of the Spring Series. Choose from a 5K, 10K, and 10K Centipede option - where you can run tethered to your closest running buddies in themed costumes. Registration and race information can be found HERE

There are also opportunities to volunteer for set up, tear down, road guards, etc. Go HERE to VOLUNTEER!!

SOCIAL CALENDAR:

Happy Hour – Spring Street
(Friday, March 8th, 2019) Join us at Spring Street Beer and Wine Garden (1920 Houston Ave.), a relaxed neighborhood bar serving wine, beer, and cocktails on a cozy porch.  See you starting at 6:30 PM.
Sunday – Whole Foods
(Sunday, March  10th, 2019) Join us immediately following the long run for coffee and breakfast at Whole Foods on Waugh

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00 PM. Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 PM at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 PM sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the Tennis Center (Old 0 Mile Marker) for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
**Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons. Check the BCRR Facebook Page for the latest updates on run cancellations**
