| Bayou City Classic's Big Day |

THANK YOU to all the volunteers that gave their time and energy to support this year's Bayou City Classic over the weekend. Folks like longtime BCRR members Joe Sellers and Susan Cita, supported by their squad of volunteers, make this race a well run machine! Their work ensured some excellent performances. Like Avi Moss who won the 10K's Grand Masters. And Avi was not alone in showing speed. Several of the club's more senior members showed up big at the Bayou City Classic 10K. Ben Harvie destroyed his AG - besting his next nearest competitor by more than six minutes. Also coming in strong, the refuse-to-get-old-and-stop-running trio of Fred Steves, Larry Lindeen, and Phillip Smith took first, second, and third, respectfully in their AG. Over on the ladies side of the tally, Amy Tan captured second in her AG, Theresa Pearsall earned third AG, and Allyson Serrao's work earned third in Masters. The Bayou City Classic also includes a 5K race, and in that contest Nancy Greig won her AG while Tim McGuirk took third in his AG. |
| BCRR at Woodlands Marathon |
| | Wishing to celebrate her Boston Qualifying time (over the weekend at The Woodlands Marathon), Leyla Østerhus invites you to join her this Wednesday at Valhalla where she will sponsor a tab after the club's run. Yay Leyla! |

Congratulations to all the BCRR members that finished The Woodlands Marathon Saturday. Special kudos to Leyla Østerhus (pictured above) who won her age group, with a time that was a Boston and New York Qualifier. Her husband, Eivind Østerhus, caulked up a personal best in the Woodlands Half Marathon. Meanwhile, Suzy Seeley took second place honors in her AG for her marathon run. Shout out to BCRR members that volunteered to pace at The Woodlands Marathon: Stephen Kallus, Joe Lengfellner, and Lee Morris. |
