BCRR Dogs & Babies Steal the Show

BCRR is a diverse club. From young babies to senior citizens, to furry friends, everyone is welcome! That fact was evident at last week's BCRR events.

Happy Hour at Under the Radar Friday, June 9, featured two of the club's youngest members, and they brought smiles to everyone they met. Unfortunately, the evening was not all smiles. It was bittersweet as the club faced the pending exodus of Sarah Austin and Kyle Crop and their baby. They're leaving Texas for Kyle's work, but plan to return to Houston for visits.

The other big event last week was the club's Wednesday evening Alumni Night at Valhalla on June 7. Several members that had not recently attended the Wednesday evening post-run hangouts came by to help the club recognize BCRR's Alumni Night. Newly elected BCRR president Kathi Mahon served as host to the nearly 20 attendees, and managed a tab at the bar on behalf of the club. After a rainy day's run, the fun people, friendly dogs, and free beer, made for a great way to celebrate the club's long-term members.

Alumni Night is a monthly affair. It is always the first Wednesday of the month; and the next Alumni Night is July 5. YOU are cordially invited!

BCRR Membership Renewal Season

July is the month when the club's calendar year flips over, and all members are encouraged to renew membership beforehand. BCRR is thankful for everyone being onboard for the 2022-2023 season, and look forward to seeing everyone in the 2023-2024 season. Select this LINK TO RENEW your membership now.

If you qualified for a free membership this year (by running a HARRA Fall or Spring Series race while wearing the BCRR club shirt) then your membership only needs updating if you have a new phone number or street address to share. And if you did run in the BCRR shirt, thank you for representing the best running club in Houston!

Questions, comments, or need to send in a photo of your HARRA race wearing your BCRR shirt? Email HoustonBCRR@gmail.com, or reach out to any BCRR board member.

Sundays Need Hydration Support

Who likes water during the Sunday long runs? Especially as the summer temps arrive! Our Sunday morning hydration team could use a little more help as people go on vacation. Please contact Loris at Loris0105@yahoo.com for more information on how to volunteer!

Friendly COVID Reminder

As the number of cases fluctuates, the BCRR Board kindly requests that you receive the COVID vaccination to minimize the risk to yourself and others. Wearing a mask is still encouraged. Please maintain social distancing prior to and following club runs. Additionally, if you are feeling ill, have a fever, or have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, please do not attend club runs for 2 weeks.
