The summer heat has arrived! And with the heat comes the critical need for the BCRR hydration stations. That need is especially apparent during the Sunday long runs. Thankfully, the club provides an answer. When thirsty runners arrive at the River Oaks rose garden feeling like a parched soul crossing the Sahara desert they find a magical oasis of BCRR fluids.

Of course, that oasis is not magic. BCRR angels working behind the scenes make it happen. Please be sure to thank the hydration station angels the next time you see them. Our regular volunteers include:

Hip, Hip, Hooray for Jay

Last Wednesday at Valhalla, members enjoyed an extra serving of good fun thanks to Jay Hendrickson. The birthday boy sprung for a tab to help spread good cheer for everyone present. Thank you Jay and happy belated birthday!

BCRR Membership Renewal Season

July is the month when the club's calendar year flips over, and all members are encouraged to renew their membership beforehand. BCRR is thankful for everyone being onboard for the 2022-2023 season, and look forward to seeing everyone in the 2023-2024 season. Select this LINK TO RENEW your membership now.

If you qualified for a free membership this year (by running a HARRA Fall or Spring Series race while wearing the BCRR club shirt) then your membership only needs updating if you have a new phone number or street address to share. Friendly COVID Reminder

As the number of cases fluctuates, the BCRR Board kindly requests that you receive the COVID vaccination to minimize the risk to yourself and others. Wearing a mask is still encouraged. Please maintain social distancing prior to and following club runs. Additionally, if you are feeling ill, have a fever, or have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, please do not attend club runs for 2 weeks.

Weekly Club Runs

Mellow Monday

7pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow

Wednesday Run

6:30pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla

Friday Speedwork

5:30am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info

Sunday Long Run

6:30am at Memorial Park Tennis Center for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Starbucks (1300 Post Oak Park Drive)

**Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, group runs will be cancelled for safety reasons. Check the BCRR Facebook Page for the latest updates on run cancellations**
