Celebrate Running and BCRR Alumni

Global Running Day (a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving) is this Wednesday, June 7. BCRR is planning a trifecta celebration:

  1. Volunteers will host a table for thirsty runners on the Rice University running loop, and provide drinks, smiles, and BCRR club invitations. Look for us on Rice Blvd not far from First Christian Church.
  2. The club will host a tab at Valhalla after the evening's run.
  3. The club will raise a toast to longtime alumni of BCRR, and welcome stories of yore!

If you have not joined the fun at Valhalla recently, this is your night! Be there as we salute experienced members and invite new faces to join us!

NOTE: Plans are still in development. Watch Facebook and the website calendar for details.

Awards Banquet Presentation

Did you miss the May 24 BCRR Awards Banquet at West Alabama Ice House? If so, you missed some good drinks, great food, and fabulous people! Fortunately, you did NOT miss the awards PowerPoint. You can see the presentation online HERE.

In addition to the awards presentation, the club elected a new Board of Directors. The 2023-2024 BCRR board includes some new faces and some returning faces. The new board features: Joel DuBois, June Harris, Kathleen Mahon and Steve Hasson (pictured above), as well as, Anna Helm, David Piper and Robert Swanson.

Sundays Need Hydration Support

Who likes water during the Sunday long runs? Especially as the summer temps arrive! Our Sunday morning hydration team could use a little more help as people go on vacation. Please contact Loris at Loris0105@yahoo.com for more information on how to volunteer!

Friendly COVID Reminder

As the number of cases fluctuates, the BCRR Board kindly requests that you receive the COVID vaccination to minimize the risk to yourself and others. Wearing a mask is still encouraged. Please maintain social distancing prior to and following club runs. Additionally, if you are feeling ill, have a fever, or have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, please do not attend club runs for 2 weeks.
