Darling Dash 5K - March 15th! ­ ­ Member News TOKYO MARATHON: Congratulations to Leyla and Eivind Østerhus for their performances in the Tokyo Marathon last weekend! Leyla completed all 6 races in the Abbott Marathon Masters Series and Eivind achieved a PR of 3:30:46, an eight minutes improvement and a negative split! WOODLANDS  MARATHON: Congratulations to Lauren Hannigan for finishing 4th Woman overall with a time of  2:56:26! But this timeless style will still be on point next winter season! If you pre-ordered a jacket, Kathi will have them at Valhalla on Wednesday night, Sunday at Memorial Park before the start of the long run (6:15AM), and Sunday at Poppy's Run for Life. Email houstonbcrr@gmail.com if you need to arrange a different rendezvous.  ­ Bayou City Classic 10K/5K March 7th Bayou City Classic 10K/5K - March 7th, Hermann Square (in front of City Hall)   The Bayou City Classic 10K is a HARRA Spring Series Race, Texas' Oldest 10K, and the 2026 Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Texas State 10K Championship.   Come out and run this great race! Still time to put together a centipede! Come hang out at the BCRR tent! Terrific post-race party!   Run in your BCRR singlet or shirt! Earn points for yourself in the HARRA Runner of the Season contest or for BCRR in the HARRA Club Competition (10K only). (Must be a current member of BCRR and HARRA to accrue points). Bayou City Classic ­ Poppy's Run for Life - March 8th BCRR member Caryn Honig started Poppy's Run for Life 5K  in 2023 to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention in memory of her father and grandfather who both died by suicide.    March 8, 2026, 8AM Hennessy Park, 1900 Lyons Avenue, Houston, TX 77020   Join the BCRR team!  Support Caryn's efforts! Poppy's Run for Life ­ Darling Dash 5K - Mar 15th Looking for Volunteers March 15, 2025, ~6:30AM: Darling Dash, 10K, 5K, 1K Race to End Sickle Cell Trait Deaths.
