In a state of post-vaccine delirium, I forgot the post the many photos from Alvin last week:  Anna and Mirna 1-2 finish in the 60-64 age group, June Harris spent twice as long in the heat for 2nd AG in the 10K! Ron Morgan and Theresa Pearsall dominating their AGs. ­ June Harris is a Beast of the Brazos!  Representing BCRR in the water, June on the podium after her 2.4 MILE swim in Waco, Texas.  Her good Friend Pamela Wilmon rode along for support.   ­ Rich "Pineapple Vega training for Alex’s 5 K at Ecuador Altitude (5000’) Running Camp and Climbing to 16,000’ on Cotopaxi, a 19,500’ volcano — took 2 days for quads to recover! ­ Want to see your name and race photos in our The Word from the Bird? Please drop me an RSVP if you are coming-they want to have enough refreshments for everyone - gaslyte@yahoo.com ­ Changes to HARRA RotS and Ironfoot Eligibility New this year: Eligible event distances will now be expanded across the series, including Marathon Weekend.  Upcoming races are the roadkill 5k on September 19th, Space City 10-Miler & 5K on October 11th and then the remainder of the series: the UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, the Houston 25K, 10-Mile & 5K, and the Coach Andy Stewart 30K & 10K. Something to think about when planning your goal races! ­ Last call! You must renew both memberships before the race! You will receive instructions how to register yourself and your team (each runner will need to register and use a prepaid code) from your race organizer this week. Remember that this is a cup-free event!  Time & Location Saturday 8AM (Mass Start) Bear Creek Park - Baseball Field 7 Parking (SE corner) look for porta-cans and tents on grass. If you did not renew recently, your membership is no longer current.   Maintaining your membership helps us keep providing the support for club activities like group runs, parties and special events.   HARRA Discount: If you are a current HARRA member, you will save $5 off your BCRR Membership with code HARRA26 at checkout.   NOTE: Runsignup will start sending automatic renewal emails. Memorial Park Tennis Center.  ­ Weekly Club Runs Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center.
