Halloween Weekend – October 26th-28th
Start your weekend at Lisa’s Halloween Party @ the Modern B&B (4003 Hazard St.) on Friday night, October 26th. Costumes are mandatory!
Then, join us for HARRA’s next race in the fall series – the Houston Half Marathon held Sunday, October 28th! The race begins in downtown Houston, following an out and back course along Allen Parkway.
Post-race party will be hosted by Paul & Sue Schultz at their home (3030 Amherst) beginning at noon! RSVP suggested but not mandatory to: pschulz100@gmail.com

It’s that time of the year again!! Alex’s 5K & Kids K is quickly approaching!! The race will be held Saturday, November 3rd, at MacGregor Park. Registration is open at www.alex5k.com

The Rockets Run will be held Saturday, November 10th! We are asking for 20-30 BCRR volunteers to help man the race, as this is a large revenue builder for the club. Please CLICK HERE to volunteer.

Practice for the Tour de Bayou Series
Practice for the Tour cross country series comprises four (4) stages and happens every October after much anticipated after the Tour de Bayou held in the Spring.
The races are free and open to everyone, you just have to promise to be careful! They are cross country (not on pavement). Distances vary from roughly three miles to five miles. Houston Area Road Runners Association will provide water, gatorade and Karbach will sponsor some post- race carb replacement.
Fall 2018 Practice for the Tour: All stages are run on Thursday and start at 6:00 p.m.

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information- p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the Tennis Center (Old 0 Mile Marker) for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
