Celebrate this Wednesday at Valhalla by wearing your costumes - Extra props if you run in them! We will have a special guest - Adventureman, Jamie MacDonald. He will join us for a beer as he stops in Houston during his cross country venture raising money for children’s hospitals.

Houston Half Marathon & 10K
Congrats to all who raced hard in the Houston Half Marathon & 10K. BCRR had strong representation despite the humid weather. Next up… HMSA 25K!!
THANK YOU to John Phillips & the set up crew for providing us with a tent and all important porta potty. Also, THANKS goes to Paul & Sue Schulz for a rejuvenating post-race party!

It’s a BUSY weekend BCRR - Here’s what’s in store:
Saturday - Alex’s 5K
It’s that time of the year again!! Alex’s 5K & Kids K is quickly approaching!! The race will be held Saturday, November 3rd, at MacGregor Park. Registration is open at www.alex5k.com
Please consider running or volunteer to support a great cause that is near and dear to the club!
*We need course set up & parking guards especially!*
Sunday - First Sunday Alternate Run
This Sunday, November 4th, join us as we run a *BRAND NEW* alternate route to BCRR. We will start at the Tennis Center in Memorial Park and venture to the White Oak Bayou for a 12 mile out and back course. The route will be marked and supported with water stops. CLICK HERE for the map .
Afterwards, join us for a modern dinner breakfast at Lola’s (1102 Yale St.)

The Rockets Run will be held Saturday, November 10th! We are asking for 20-30 BCRR volunteers to help man the race, as this is a large revenue builder for the club. Please CLICK HERE to volunteer.

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information- p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the Tennis Center (Old 0 Mile Marker) for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
