Huge thanks to Race Course Director Mike Mangan on another successful Darling Dash 5K/10K!
Shout out to all the volunteers who helped race day (in alphabetical order): Lara
Allen, Susan Cita, Joel DuBois, Eric Faria, June Harris, Anna Helm,
Mike Mangan, John Phillips, Bob Thompson, Alan Tillotson.
Mike Mangan initially brought the Darling Dash to BCRR as a race management option to raise funds for the club in 2005. The race benefits the As One Foundation, whose mission to to end sports-related sickle cell deaths in memory of Devaughn Darling. As Mike pointed out in an email to volunteers earlier today:
"This
being the 20th year for us working the race for the As One Foundation,
we are one race short of raising $10,000 for BCRR (because of COVID), we
have to all stick together and do it again next year so we can hit the
$10,000 mark."
We're in Mike! π
And since February is the month we ask so much of our volunteers, it's high time to acknowledge all the volunteers for the Rockets Run (held on Feb. 4th) individually:
Joe Sellers, Race Course Director, Hope Sellers, Assistant Race Course Director, and Susan Cita, Volunteer Coordinator.
