35th Anniversary of BCRR @ Valhalla

We celebrated the 35th Anniversary of BCRR gathering at Valhalla last week with pizza, watermelon and FREE beer! Lots of members old and new showed up to toast this milestone event. Valhalla This Week Celebrate Our Newest BCRR Member ­

Our newest (and youngest) member of BCRR is Lucy Bongiorno, who was born on Saturday to Tom and Jennifer Bongiorno. Tom reports Lucy is going great and ready to sponsor her first Valhalla tab!    Lucy's father Tom and Avi Moss will be bankrolling the beer tab AND bringing pizza to celebrate Lucy's arrival and Avi's birthday.    This will be the 13th consecutive week of drinking for FREE!   Run starts at 6:30PM from the First Christian Church parking lot as usual.  ­

Save the Date HARRA's Party in the Park - Aug 9 ­

Join BCRR at HARRA's Annual Party in the Park! This FREE event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9th from 7 am to 10am just west of the Tennis Center at Memorial Park.  Free watermelon, water, beer, music, massages, club tents and more. Get your run in, stop by and say hello. We will have the BCRR/Alex's 5k tent at the event. Stop by and say hi! Volunteer for a shift at the tent to help promote BCRR and Alex's 5K (contact houstonbcrr@gmail.com).    Susan Cita will be in charge of organizing the event for HARRA and will also need volunteers to help set up, tear down, and for food service. ­ Happy Hour - D&T Drive Inn Our next Happy Hour will be on Friday, July 25th  at D&T Drive Inn, 1307 Enid St, Houston, TX 77009. We will be there at approximately 6:30PM. ­ Sunday Hydration Support Thank you to Avi Moss and Hong Tang for setting out the water and Gatorade last weekend.                                             🥛🥛🥛   Who likes water during the Sunday long runs? Membership Renewal for 2025-2026  We are now into the new "running" year (from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026).  If you joined or renewed after 4/1/25 your membership is good for the upcoming running year (thru June 30, 2026). If you did not renew recently, your membership is no longer current.   Maintaining your membership helps us keep providing the support for club activities like group runs, parties and special events.    HARRA Discount: If you are a current HARRA member, you will save $5 off your BCRR Membership with code HARRA25 at checkout. Weekly Club Runs

Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow	Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla	Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info	Sunday Long Run 6:30 am at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Whole Foods in Montrose (701 Waugh Dr Houston, TX 77019)
