Spring Race Schedule! ­ ­ Thanks Rocket's Run Volunteers!  We truly appreciate everyone who came out and volunteered for the Rocket's Run this past Sunday! This year we welcomed the participation of the UH PTOTS program, who provided many volunteers. If you volunteered and haven't indicated your choice for free Rocket's tickets, please email houstonbcrr@gmail.com ASAP so the Rockets can send your voucher. (The system for game vouchers is a little different this year.) Game Choices:  - 2/23 Houston Rockets vs. Utah Jazz - 2/25 Houston Rockets vs. Sacramento Kings - 3/06 SOLD OUT - 3/10 Houston Rockets vs. Toronto Raptors BCRR has provided course support for this race for 24 years and this is a significant revenue-generating activity for our club. We are especially grateful for the efforts of Joe and Hope Sellers who have served as course director/race site organizers for the last 24 years.We couldn't do this without them!  Photo: J. The 2nd race in the HARRA Spring Series - is Saturday, February 21, 2026,  Sam Houston Park, Houston.    This is a HARRA Race, so we encourage everyone to run and get points for yourself and for BCRR. Look for the BCRR tent!    Race benefits the The Center for Pursuit, an organization devoted to the pursuit of choice, growth and independence for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism or similar conditions. HARRA Members get $5 off   REGISTER ­ Bayou City Classic 10K/5K March 7th Bayou City Classic 10K/5K - March 7th, Hermann Square (in front of City Hall)   The Bayou City Classic 10K is a HARRA Spring Series Race, Texas' Oldest 10K, and the 2026 Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Texas State 10K Championship.   Come out and run this great race! Still time to put together a centipede! Come hang out at the BCRR tent! Terrific post-race party!   Run in your BCRR singlet or shirt! Earn points for yourself in the HARRA Runner of the Season contest or for BCRR in the HARRA Club Competition (10K only). (Must be a current member of BCRR and HARRA to accrue points). Bayou City Classic ­ HARRA RotS: Check Out Your Stats! The HARRA - Houston Area Road Runners Association Runner of the Season (RotS) calculations have been updated to include the final race in the HARRA Fall Series: the Houston Marathon. If you are a HARRA member in good standing, have a look to see how you stand and note any corrections or omissions. Note that your individual time in the relay now counts in scoring.   Please send any corrections to Hans (info@harra.org). We provide needed course support on race day. We truly appreciate everyone who gives of their time to help out on these races. Please contact Loris at Loris0105@yahoo.com for more information on how to volunteer! ­ Weekly Club Runs Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center.
