PROM NIGHT!
Thanks to all who attended prom night! The tunes were dance-able, the beer was cold, and the attire was stunning! Congrats to Ron Morgan & Theresa Pearsall on winning BCRR Prom King & Queen!

BCRR Family
Join us Saturday, October 8th for a fun twist on our annual family picnic! The field day will take place at Andrew the Young’s home, 4010 Mandell, from 1 – 5 PM.
BCRR Board will be manning the grill with burgers and hot dogs, feel free to bring a side or dessert. Games and family competitions will be plenty so get your teams ready!

Sunday Run: Space City 10 Miler
The Space City 10 miler is back for the 15th year in the Clear Lake area as part of the HARRA Fall Series of races on Sunday, October 9th. The race begins at UH – Clear Lake, featuring a single loop course around scenic Clear Lake with aid stations every 2 miles. Registration information HERE.
BCRR is invited to the BARC Post-Race Party at 16434 Dunmoor Drive (~1 mile from the race finish). It will be a potluck party - please bring a beverage or snack to share! Party begins following the awards ceremony.
**There will be no supported club run this Sunday due to the race. Instead, come run or support your fellow club members!**

· BCRR Invades Austin – November 19-20th: Susan & Steve Davis have invited BCRR to Austin! Festivities include a Saturday AM run with their run club, Ship of Fools, brunch, and cocktail hour at the Davis' home (54 Rainey St). Two hotels have been recommended based on location:

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00p.m.Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. The goal is to increase membership and recruit new members with this new social event. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun. **Please note that in cases of inclement weather, i.e. thunder & lightning, Mellow Monday will be cancelled for safety reasons.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 pm sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information- p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the O mile marker for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.
