Membership Renewal Notes! Save $5 Thru June 30th Note: All memberships expire on June 30, 2025 unless you have already renewed during our Early Bird period. If you joined or renewed after 4/1/25 your membership is good for the upcoming running year (thru June 30, 2026).   Runsignup is sending out renewal reminders automatically. If you renewed during the Early Bird period, you may still receive a renewal email from the system. Please ignore if this is the case.    If not, renew now and be good through 6/30/26!  Save $5 on memberships for the upcoming year. If you are a current HARRA member, you will save an additional $5 off your BCRR Membership (that's $10 off)! Prices increase on July 1st, 2025. BCRR MEMBERSHIP

BCRR Board Election! Last Call for Nominations - Ballots Go Out Tomorrow Our Annual Board Election will take place at the BCRR Year End Party this Friday. We are finalizing the ballot and will send out a link to vote online TOMORROW, Tuesday June 3rd. Check your mail for email from houstonbcrr@gmail.com! Voting in person at the party is also an option.   Most of the current board are running for re-election. Amy Tan (Secretary) and Leyla Østerhus (Member at Large) are cycling off the Board. We thank them for their service and valuable contributions this year. Hope Sellers and Mirna Chang have been nominated to fill their positions.   Current Slate of Nominees: President: Kathleen Mahon Vice-President: Steve Hasson Secretary: Hope Sellers Treasurer: Robert Swanson At Large Members: Joel DuBois, Anna Helm, Joe Sellers, and Mirna Chang Lee (vote for 4)   It's not too late to get on the ballot! BCRR partnered with Run in Texas  for the inaugural Tejas Beer 5K this past Saturday at Tejas Brewery. The race was very successful and we are grateful to all who volunteered to make it so!    Water Stop Volunteers: Mike DeAyala, Don and Pamela Wilmon, Bob Thompson, Kathi Mahon. Course setters: Joel Dubois, Eric Faria. packet Pickup: Anna Helm, Tom Helm, Joel DuBois. Photographer: Milan Jamrich   ALL BCRR runners made it to the podium as well. Leyla Østerhus was 1st Masters Female (and 2nd woman overall) with a time of 23:15. Peyton Tan (29:01.2 - 3rd, F20-29), Anna Helm (26:00.8 - 1st F50-59), Amy Tan (26:04.0 - 2nd, F50-59), Eivind Østerhus (22:36.3 - 2nd M50-59).  FULL RESULTS    As anticipated, the post race party at the brewery was great fun. We had an opportunity to highlight Alex's 5k and our club. Importantly, Run in Texas made a generous donation in recognition of our collaboration.     Congratulations and well done everyone!   ­ UPCOMING EVENTS:

Global Running Day & Alumni Night Wednesday at Valhalla

Celebrate Global Running Day at our Wednesday night run from the First Christian Church parking lot (run at 6:30 sharp), followed by Alumni Night at Valhalla!   BCRR will be picking up the bar tab and supplying ice-cold watermelon!    This will be the 6th Wednesday in a row that features FREE beverages!

BCRR Year End Celebration - THIS FRIDAY!

Bayou City Road Runners Year End Celebration, Awards Banquet & Board Elections   When: Friday, June 6th, 6:30-9:30PM   Where: Fellowship Hall, Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell Street, Houston, TX. Just across the street from the Mecca of Houston running, Memorial Park   What:  Italian Food Buffet including salad, meat and vegetarian pasta dishes, desert.  and a fine selection of wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks.   How Much: We've kept the prices low, ensuring an accessible celebration for all. No Happy Hour This Week! This Friday our Year End Party will take the place of Happy Hour. Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow	Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla	Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info	Sunday Long Run 6:30 am at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Whole Foods in Montrose (701 Waugh Dr Houston, TX 77019)
