LP Run: Results!

Another strong showing for BCRR at the 56th Annual LP Run that was held on Saturday morning at Rice University Track! Although hot, there was a breeze and some cloud cover to help us manage our efforts. Check out how fresh we look in this post-race photo (courtesy of M. Jamrich)! Tie-dye race shirts were back and there were some awesome works of art to choose from!    The official results have not been published, but we have obtained provisional results and can report on our collective excellence in advance!   Club Competition (based on total miles covered): BCRR women dominated with 35.48 miles (187,347 ft.)! The next closest team was the Striders: 28.61 miles (151,079 ft), followed by BARC: 16.51 miles (87,184 ft.)    BCRR Men were second with 25.23 miles (133,202 ft.).  Striders were 1st with 29.87 miles (157,709 ft) and BARC 3rd with 15.71 miles (82966 ft).   Individual Competition: Women (listed in age-group order) Diana Berry: 2nd F19 and under - 4.03m (21,293ft) Lisa Thompson: 1st F55-59 - 4.13m (21,806 ft) Anna Helm: 2nd F55-59 - 3.98m (21,036 ft) Gloria Favuzza: 1st F60-64 - 3.91m (20,643 ft) Suzy Seeley: 2nd F60-64 - 3.82m (20,187 ft.) Tejas Beer 5K - May 31st

BCRR will be partnering with the Run in Texas Beer Run Series for the inaugural Tejas Beer 5K on May 31st at Tejas Brewery (2101 Summer St.  Houston, 77007). This popular race series consists of events run from local independent breweries all over Texas. Participants receive a shirt, beer glass and choice of craft beer. The post race parties for this series are always great!  This will be the first race taking place inside the loop!   BCRR will be manning a water stop and will have our tent at the event. Run in Texas will make a generous donation for our charities.  We encourage folks to volunteer or run. BCRR Year End Celebration - June 6 PRICE INCREASE JUNE 1ST!

Bayou City Road Runners Year End Celebration, Awards Banquet & Board Elections   When: Friday, June 6th, 6:30-9:30PM   Where: Fellowship Hall, Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell Street, Houston, TX. Just across the street from the Mecca of Houston running, Memorial Park   What:  Italian Food Buffet including salad, meat and vegetarian pasta dishes, desert.  and a fine selection of wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks.   How Much: We've kept the prices low, ensuring an accessible celebration for all. Save the Date: BCRR Surfside Beach Day - Jun 21st

Join BCRR for a day at the beach! We’ll have a grill, a fire and a tent. Bring drinks, snacks and anything you want to grill.  Organized by Andrew & Christina Young. ­ Early Bird Registration

Renewal Season is off and running! The official "running year" for both BCRR and HARRA memberships runs from June 30th to July1st, so all current memberships will need to be renewed by July 1st, 2025.    Renew now and be good through 6/30/26!  Both BCRR and HARRA  have an "Early Bird" registration period so it is easy (and cheaper) to renew now before June 30, 2025.  (Note: anyone who joined or renewed after 4/1/25 has automatically been renewed for the upcoming year.)    Save $5 on both memberships for the upcoming year. If you are a current HARRA member, you will save an additional $5 off your BCRR Membership (that's $10 off)! Prices increase on July 1st, 2025. BCRR MEMBERSHIP

Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow	Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla	Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info	Sunday Long Run 6:30 am at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Whole Foods in Montrose (701 Waugh Dr Houston, TX 77019)
