Fall Family Picnic
Thanks to all who joined us at the damp family picnic. Rain doesn't stop BCRR from having a bit of fun!

Wednesday at Valhalla


Valhalla will be closed this Wednesday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Instead, join us at Gingerman (5607 Morningside Dr) for a beer at the coziest dive bar in Rice Village!

HMSA Classical 25K
**THIS SUNDAY**

Now that it’s FINALLY cooler weather, let’s get ready for the next race in the HARRA Fall Series: HMSA Classical 25K - Sunday, November 25th.
 
*There will be NO supported Sunday Long Run. Please consider racing or supporting your fellow club members.*
Post-race party will be held at the Presidential Palace – 4010 Mandell St – complete with beer and food to refuel!!

(Friday, November 23rd, 2018) Join us at 8th Wonder (2202 Dallas St), a cozy brewery located in EADO! Join us starting at 6:30 PM.

WEEKLY CLUB RUNS:
Mellow Monday- Join us every Monday for a 3 mile recovery run around Memorial Park at 7:00 PM. Runners who are interested should park on the east side of the parking lot in front of the softball fields off of the Picnic Loop. Following a loop around Memorial, we head to a dinner venue for post running fun.
Wednesday at Rice University: Every Wednesday evening we meet at 6:30 PM at Rice University (run leaves at 6:40 PM sharp!). All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla afterwards. Parking is available at First Christian Church/School (1628 Rice Boulevard).
To park in the church parking lot, you need a BCRR bumper sticker. Please see Lisa Thompson for a sticker if you do not already have one.
Friday Speedwork (Memorial Park 5:30 AM): Contact Peter Griffiths for more information-  p_griffiths@bellsouth.net
Sunday Long Run (Memorial Park, 6:30 AM): Meet us at the Tennis Center (Old 0 Mile Marker) for a 10, 11, or 12 mile route around Memorial Park and through River Oaks. Immediately following the run, join us Whole Foods for coffee and conversation.

BCRR WEEKLY UPDATE: May 14th to May 20th

2018 Bayou Bash Relay
Thank you to all who ran, volunteered, and cheered on Saturday evening!! BCRR represented strong with 18 teams! There were several age group awards. Now to await the final tally for the HARRA Club Competition.

Joe Conway Memorial Track Meet
Join us Sunday, May 20th at 5 PM on the Rice Track for a track meet in honor of a long time BCRR member and running buddy - Joe Conway. Proceeds of this donation based event will be going to a college fund for Joe's children.

Featured running events include:

  • 4 x 100 (Kids' Race)
  • 400
  • 800
  • Mile
  • 4 x 400
  • 4 x 800

BCRR Spring Banquet - Wednesday, May 23rd
Wednesday, May 23rd @ St. Arnold's Brewery (2000 Lyons Ave)
Taps open at 6:30 PM
Tickets will be $15 at the door (cash or check) – this includes dinner from Lasagna House and beer!!
The Cookie Table is returning! Members are invited to bring their best baked goods to share! We will vote for the best tasting treat to receive an award!

You will also be able to renew your BCRR Membership at the Banquet:
·        Single Member $30
·        Family Membership: $35
·        Both options offer a $5 discount for HARRA members

LP Run – Saturday, April 29th:

The 50th Anniversary of the LP Run is here! The historical race will be run on Saturday, April 29th. The goal is to run as many RPMs (laps) as you can in 33 ½ minutes. A special award this year will be presented to the club with the most miles run!

**BCRR will be organizing teams for the Bayou Bash Relay in May - Stay tuned for information!**

Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon

This fall, venture to Willamette Valley for a weekend of running, wine, and adventure! The race will be Sunday, September 3rd in wine country ~45 minutes from Portland. We are ironing out details for accommodations and logistics – Reply to this email to be included in further info! Race details can be found HERE
