­ BOARD ELECTIONS  Our annual board elections will take place at the 40th Anniversary Party on May 17th. We are finalizing the ballot and will send out a link to vote online very soon! If you would like to nominate yourself or a friend or have questions about the positions, please contact houstonbcrr@gmail.com.  ­ BCRR 40th ANNIVERSARY PARTY - THIS FRIDAY May 17th We invite all Bayou City Road Runners - past, present and future - to join us for an evening commemorating four decades of BCRR running history. We will have dinner, drinks and riveting speeches reliving our glorious past and significant contributions to the Houston Running Community. We will also present our year end awards and hold annual board elections.   When: Friday, May 17, 2024, 6:00PM to 9PM.    Where: Fellowship Hall, Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell Street, Houston, TX. Just across the street from the Mecca of Houston running, Memorial Park   What:  Menu: Italian meal catered by Chef Memo. (A selection of appetizers, salads, and pasta dishes). Drinks (beer, wine, ice tea, lemonade, water), dessert    $20 - May 12 - 16th, 11:59PM $25 May 17th at the door Kids under 12 FREE (don't need to register online)   You do not need to be a current member of BCRR to attend (but of course we strongly encourage it!) LP Run - May 11 ­ Last HARRA Spring Series Race ­ Congrats to everyone who ran the LP Run this Saturday! As usual, there were many great performances. The BCRR Men took the team competition. (Not all runners were listed with a club or we would have scored higher in the Women's Competition).    Men: Charlie Schaub: 2nd (M30-34), 5.31 miles Ronan Harris:1st (M45-49), 4.75 miles Eivind Østerhus (M50-54), 4.36 miles Avi Moss: 1st (M60-64), 4.84 miles Scott Bounds: 1st (M70-74), 4.29 miles Ron Morgan: 4th (M70-74), 3.02 miles Fred Ward: 1st (M80+), 3.65 miles Larry Lindeen: 3rd (M80+), 2.52 miles   Women: Leyla Østerhus: 1st (F50-54), 4.39 miles Mirna Chang: 2nd (F55-59), 3.84 miles Theresa Pearsall: 1st (F70-74), 3.56 miles Gloria Mahoney: 3rd (F70-74), 3.29 miles   Most notable non-BCRR accomplishment: Ino Cantu, age 90, 2nd (M80+), 2.93 miles   Congrats All! ­

Mellow Monday 7 pm at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 3 mile casual paced run around the Park and dinner to follow	Wednesday Run 6:30 pm at First Christian Church for a 3-6 mile run around Rice University and Hermann Park followed by drinks at Valhalla	Friday Speedwork 5:30 am at Memorial Park Running Center. Contact Peter Griffiths for more info	Sunday Long Run 6:30 am at Memorial Park Tennis Center (on trail in front of Center) for a 10-12 mile supported run w/ water at 2 locations followed by breakfast at Whole Foods in Montrose (701 Waugh Dr Houston, TX 77019)
